Cliff Diving in Malta – Gozo, Comino & Blue Lagoon

Cliff diving is something we have been doing since the begging of time, it’s fun. It doesn’t require any equipment, just technique, and nerves of steal.

The best place to do it in Malta island is Comino. Comino has multiple spots for all levels, from beginners to professionals.

Crystal Lagoon

The best place for cliff diving has to be Crystal lagoon, where you have a few jump spots, the smallest jump is just 3 feet and the highest goes up to 90 feet. It is also sheltered from most winds and the sea is quite deep. Giving it perfect conditions for this sport.

There are a lot of options in between depending on your level. Our client’s favorite has to be the 20-foot jump. It’s a very easy jump to get to, and it’s high enough to give you a good adrenaline rush.

Cominotto

Cominotto is another cliff diving spot, this is only for professionals. Care must be taken due to crosswinds!

Santa Marija caves

Santa Marija caves, have multiple jumps with different levels, you will need water shoes for this jump ( the rocks are quite sharp) Make sure you check the depth before you jump or discuss it with the skipper of the boat charter for the safest spots for the cliff dive.

Hondoq

Hondoq is the favorite and the core attraction of many locals children. With easily accessible jumps at a few different levels ( it has to be said, its is different concrete levels and not natural rocks but than again Hondoq seas are almost as blue as blue lagoon)

Xlendi Bay

This bay also has a couple of nice cliff diving spots, you can match it with sunset, given that Xlendi has one of the best sunsets on the island

Mgarr ix Xini Bay

Mgarr ix Xini bay, there is a few spots on the side wall of the east of the gorge, follow the local kids especially on weekend or weekdays evening after 4 pm.

Wied il Ghasri, Wied il Mielah and Blue hole,- these 3 locations are also known for professional Cliff divers. They are quite a high level so don’t try if you are not a seasoned professional.

Cliff diving is a sport with a calculated risk, always make your due diligence, or do it with a guide or get some pointers from a guide if you are a first-timer.
