Blue Grotto
The Blue Grotto is one of Malta’s most iconic natural attractions, famous for its stunning sea caves and brilliant blue reflections. Located on the island’s southern coast near Żurrieq, this series of caves glows in vivid shades of turquoise when sunlight hits the water. Visitors can take a short boat trip to explore the caves up close, go snorkeling, or enjoy panoramic views from the nearby cliffside viewpoint. The best time to visit is in the morning, when the sun illuminates the caves for the most vibrant colors.
